Potable systems are designed to be the primary source of water in your home. Rainwater is collected from your roof, stored, filtered, and purified onsite. City or well water can be used as a back up source of water.

Rainwater does not contain ammonia, fluoride or chloride so it is preferable for use on your plants. When using rainwater for landscaping, drip irrigation is the most practical use. Supply can be provided by gravity pressure alone or a pump attached to your irrigation system. 

Oregon Agricultural communities are experiencing water shortages. In many cases rainwater harvesting can fulfill all of their water needs with a secondary source as a backup. Rainwater is free and is not subject to Oregon water permitting rights. 

Fire water storage tanks create a dedicated location for a specific volume of water that can be used by fire departments to supplement or act as the main source of water in fire suppression systems.

Rain barrels are a great way to store a very small water source for house plants, emergency water, or a few potted plants. We recommend rain barrels that are completely enclosed and eliminate the possibility of algae growth and mosquito infestations. Explore here for tanks we recommend.
